• Description: This black and white wildlife photograph presents the undeniable balance of life as both fierce and fragile. On the wild savannas of the Maasai Mara, lions are considered kings and their superiority as predators is well known across the kingdom. Their nature is fierce. Almost invincible. What looks like a lion’s roaring display is, in truth, a weary yawn. Both exhausted and injured from a buffalo hunt, this lion is missing out on a feast with his pride. His misfortune may cost him his life. Although, with resilience and the strength of his pride, he may survive.
